1862 $50 Bank of the City of Petersburg VA-160 G8b - PMG VF 35 FR.1880J This countermark is a satirizationPrinted by the American Banknote Company in bright red and black with a nice green overprint this note features a rare vignette at right of "Washington Encampment". A superb mid grade specimen of this significantly scarce note. The last specimen I could find for sale was at a Heritage auction. In a PMG VF 25 holder, that note sold for in excess of $4,000. Here is an arguably superior specimen for less!
